/WordPress /Create a password protected page for your clients to access

You can setup a password protected page on your WordPress website that let’s you make a ‘branded’ place where you can give clients access to files and information. The following steps assume that you have logged into your WordPress dashboard as an administrator and clicked on Pages > Add Page.

– Add a new page and name it something like A1

– Put a welcome line of text in the page

– Find the file you want to share with the client in your dropbox and click the link icon to share it

– Click on the Get Link button to copy the link to your copy-paste clipboard

– Type in a phrase that describes the file you are linking to and highlight it and click on the chainlink icon

– Paste the dropbox link into the URL field and press Add Link

– Now you have a page with the link on it so click the Edit link next to Visibility Public

– Change the Visibility to Password Protected

– Enter a suitable password and click OK

– Click Publish

– The page address to give your client is next to the Permalink you can click view page to see it

– The password protected page will have a box to login on it

– Once you enter the password the page reloads and you see the information published

Please understand that this does not password protect the files in dropbox, it is only the page that is password protected. So if your client logs into the page they could share the dropbox link with someone directly.
